31. Research and technology grant
usually given to members of the academe in support of an on-going research. This type of grant gives researchers the free hand in using the funds accordingly. However, the grant is subjected to the general conditions of the sponsor and the policies of the University.
32. Restricted grants
grants that support only a particular component of a project or program.
33. RFP or RFA
RFP stands for Request for Proposal while RFA means Request for Application. RFP or RFA is an announcement from a funding agency that they have available funds and applicants are welcome to submit their grant proposals within a specific period.
34. Scholarship
an award of access to an institution or a financial aid award for an individual (a "scholar") for purposes of furthering their education.
35. Seed money
money used or needed to set up a new business or enterprise.
36. Special project grants
are grants made to aid expenditure for a particular project instead of the entire organization. Most of the funding agencies are interested more in new, developing and on-going projects.
37. Supplementary grant
also known as an “add-on” grant. It is made on the commitment of giving additional grant to continue supporting a project or program.
38. Technical review
an evaluation process done by the grant making agency looking only on the technical side of the grant proposal and not the program itself. The technical reviewer will only check if the required guidelines were followed such as the submission of all required documents, format (font size, margin, etc.), and the submission of the proposal before the deadline.
39. Technical grants
are grants in the form of financial assistance or in-kind contributions to assist non-profit organizations to efficiently deliver or operate in the aspects of accounting, consulting, financial planning, fundraising, legal counsel, and more.
40. Temporary disability grant
a type of disability grant given to those whose disability will last from six months to a year. |
